Jeff was suiting up for football practice. It was his very first day at a new school. He didn't know anyone at the school at all. As he was suiting up, he looked around the room. He saw a 6'4 Jock standing a couple of feet away from him. He had all of the nice padding with an expensive helmet. He looked all muscle. Jeff made the inference that he had been one of the good players on the team. A couple of seconds later, Jeff saw a smaller kid walk in. The second he saw Jeff he said,"what er u looking at punk." All of the bigger kids just looked away and said, "ugh Justin." Jeff realized that he was probably annoying and not liked much.

summer goal

I have a goal that I think that I am willing to do this summer. It would last for the whole summer. I already have been doing this for a couple of months. What I am doing is a workout. It is not too hard, but it still helps cardiovascular muscle. First I do 20 push-ups, then 10 pull-ups, then 30 crunches, then 30 straight legged sit-ups, then a plank on two arms, left arm, and right arm, then 10 curls with a 15 pound weight, after that two times then I do 15 dips. I do this every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday. My goal is to keep doing this for the rest of the summer. So far it has worked well. Hopefully I can keep it going. That is my goal for the summer. 

like and dislike about class

There are many good things about language class. Many things that are fun. One thing that I really liked about language class was group work. I felt like I got to know my classmates that I don't talk to very much. It also made the class less monotonous. If their was one thing that I would change about that class, it would probably only be the portfolios. I think that they were worth a little too much points. It could change the outcome of a grade by its self. That is the only thing that I would change. Everything else was great. @ shelbygiles

There were many things in the MLK paper that you wanted me to change. One thing was a past tense word. I wrote is instead of was. Another thing was a sentence fragment. It was not complete. Another thing that I did was not add parenthetical citations. I was suppose to write one every time I used a source in the paragraph, but I just put them in the works cited at the end of the essay. Those are some of the things that I did wrong in the MLK paper. Next time I write an essay I will make sure that those do not happen. +Shelby Giles 

response to Chase Mielke

After I read Chase Mielke's Post about what students need to hear, I was affected by it. I think that it was very strong. It really makes you think about how much better you can make yourself. I learned that it is not a good thing to sell yourself short. I also learned that it is not good to only put in part of your effort. That teaches you to quite in things all the way through adulthood. Those are the things that I learned from the touching post. @shelbygiles

How to ride a bike

If you have never ridden a bike before, than listen to this paragraph on how to. The first thing that you do is make sure that the bike is the right size for you. If it is too big it will cause you to fall over. If it is too small than you will not be able to pedal fast enough. Your feet should just be able to reach the pedal at its lowest point. After you make sure it fits, you will start to pedal. You want to make sure that you aren't pedaling to fast or slow. You should go at a medium speed. Keep at this speed and maintain balance. If you do this long enough than you will get used to it and be able to pedal anywhere. +Shelby Giles

Charlie

Charlie has to make a tough decision in the story, flowers for Algernon. He had to decide if he wanted to to get a  surgery to make him smarter. The surgery did have some side-affects though. If I were in Charlies position then I would probably want to get the surgery. Even though the amazing results would ware off, it would still be great to be able to be smart. I would also learn all I could when I was smart. It would be very beneficial. @ shelbygiles

embarassment

One thing that I do to embarrass my parents is listen to loud music when they have friends over. Another thing that I do is leave the toilet seat open when they have guests over. A third thing I do is leave my room dirty. Another thing I do is leave food out on the counter. One last thing I do is leave and go up to my room when there is guests over. One thing that my mom does to embarrass me is call me little names like bubby.  My dad embarrasses me my by not letting me do anything with my friends. They both embarrass me by trying to act funny. Another thing they do is try to make me clean when I have friends over. A final thing they do is try to lecture me about my attitude! @ shelbygiles

St. patricks fairytale

There once was a turtle names Fro. He had many friends were he lived. When his friends found out that he did'nt like St. Patricks Day then they were angry at him. They told him that if he didn't come and have fun on March 17th, then he would no longer be there friend. Fro agreed that he would go out with them. He thought that he would not enjoy it though. When he left he was all grumpy and mopey. He met up with his friends and surprisingly, he had the time of his life. He was very happy that he went and he is looking forward to next year. @ shelbygiles

comparing muppets

The two muppet's that I am comparing are animal and Miss Piggy. They have much different personalities. Animal is just like me. We are both crazy. Miss Piggy on the other hand isn't like either of us. She is domineering and demanding. I don't like her at all. I love animal though. We are two peas in a pod. I would love to meet him if he was a real person. @ shelbygiles

New holiday

If I were to make a new holiday than it would be a very fun one. It would be during Christmas. The date would be December 24. It would be the most random holiday ever. If you were to do this holiday than you would have to be by a pool. In the pool you would dress like Santa and jump in it. It doesn
't matter if the water is hot or cold. The colder the water than the manlier or are. That would be the holiday that I make. @ shelbygiles

a funny person

There is a very funny person that I know. He always makes me laugh. His name is James. He is a big goon. He always does funny things. They always  make me and everyone else laugh. I am very happy that James is there to make me laugh. It always makes my day.@ shelbygiles

5 pieces of advice to president

If I were to give a president 5 pieces of advice it would be Obama. I would come up with lots of things for him to change. First I would tell him to drop Obama care. I think that
Obama care stinks. Second I would tell him to not go to war. Third I would tell him to get rid of half of the McDonald's around America. Fourth I would tell him to have better school lunches. I don't like all of the gross wheat products. And finally, I would tell him to drop out of being president. I  think that would help everybody out. @ shelbygiles

Valentines day

I don't think that valentines day is special at all. At least for young people. It could be different for a happily married couple. It is stupid for young kids who think that they are in love. A kid should not be buying a girl something that he barely knows. The only reason that girls like is because they get nice things. The only reason young boys like it is because they think that it will make their girlfriend like them more. That is why I think that valentines day is stupid. @ shelbygiles

creating a superhero

If Fairfield was in the dumps, then I would definitely create a superhero. His main powers would be super strength and super speed. His name would be Eckel the egg nog. His powers would help the people in Fairfield. He would beat up criminals. He would also always know when something was going wrong. We would not need cops any more. There once were mice who lived in South Philippines. They were very joyful mice. They lived in little houses along the corner of the block. They wanted lots of friends. a day without round shapes

If nothing was round , then everything would not be as simple as it is now. Everything would change dramatically. Nothing would be as fast. We would not have tires. Sports would be different. Life itself would change. Surviving would probably become harder. All the things that we take for granted would be harder. We would even see different. Martin Luther Debate

Martin Luther King was a very good man. All the things that he did were to benefit others. That is how kind of a man he was. There should be more people like him. He believed that all things should be solved using no violence. I think that he is maybe just a little wrong. Some things need violence to be solved. That is why there has been wars. Almost the whole world was involved in them. And even if one man wanted this peace, the whole world would not obey. The whole world would not even listen. I think that he was  a good man but he was asking for a bit much. @mrsgiles

New Years Resolution

My new years resolution is to stay fit. I have always wanted to stay fit. My brothers are all big and strong. I want to be like them. If I want that to happen then I need to work out often. That way I can get fit and maybe look my brothers when I get older. If I am fit when I am older than I will be much happier. I never want to be fat. That has always been a fear of mine. Another thing that I have to do is eat healthy. I don't always eat very healthy. Most times I will just eat donuts on weekends. I realize that they are bad but it is hard to stop.
